Reusable Embolic Demonstrator | SurgeonsLab

Reusable Embolic Demonstrator

One reusable platform. Multiple embolization pathologies. Repeatable hands-on demonstrations.

Note: This platform is intended for education, simulation, product demonstration and bench evaluation. It is not intended for direct clinical use.

What is Reusable Embolic Demonstrator

SurgeonsLab's Reusable Embolic Demonstrator is a modular, flow-enabled platform designed to demonstrate how liquid embolic agents and embolization devices behave inside representative neurovascular anatomies. The same base platform can be used with interchangeable pathology modules for AVM, DAVF, MMA, retrograde and custom embolization workflows.

Pathology Modules

Select a module to explore

The same reusable base supports multiple clinical scenarios. Exchange only the vessel module needed for the next workflow.

AVM — Arteriovenous Malformation

Simulate complex AVM-style vascular architecture with nidus-like networks. Demonstrate microcatheter positioning, embolic penetration, nidus filling, reflux awareness and staged embolization planning in a visible, repeatable setup.

Frequently asked questions

These are the most commonly asked questions. can't find what you are looking for use our chatbot.

  • What is the Reusable Embolic Demonstrator?

The Reusable Embolic Demonstrator, abbreviated as RED, is SurgeonsLab's modular, flow-enabled platform for demonstrating how embolic agents and embolization devices behave inside representative vascular anatomy. One reusable platform base supports interchangeable pathology modules such as AVM, DAVF, MMA, retrograde and custom workflows, so teams can run multiple embolization scenarios on a single system.
  • Can the anatomy be built from a specific patient's imaging?

Yes, SurgeonsLab can develop patient-specific modules from DICOM data including CTA, MRA and DSA, for teams that need anatomy matched to a particular case.
  • What configurations are available?

    SurgeonsLab offers four standard sets:

    1. The Starter Set (base plus one pathology module, for focused demonstrations)
    2. The Neurovascular Education Set (base plus AVM, DAVF, and MMA modules, for training centers and physician workshops)
    3. The Device Company Workshop Set (base plus vessel-size and procedure-specific modules, for KOL demos and product launches)
    4. The Custom Development Set (base plus modules built to your anatomy or device requirements)
  • Who typically uses this platform?

The platform is meant for four main groups of professionals:

    1. Physicians and fellows building hands-on skill in catheter positioning, embolic delivery and occlusion strategy
    2. Hospitals and simulation centers running recurring workshops and skill labs
    3. Medical device companies using it for product demos, KOL workshops and sales-team training
    4. Distributors or field teams who need a portable, repeatable way to demonstrate device behavior without a full angio suite
  • Is the Reusable Embolic Demonstrator approved for clinical use on patients?

The RED platform is intended for education, simulation, product demonstration and bench evaluation only. It is not intended for direct clinical use.
  • Which pathologies can I train or demonstrate on?

The platform base currently supports five module types:

    1. AVM (arteriovenous malformation)
    2. DAVF (dural arteriovenous fistula)
    3. MMA (middle meningeal artery)
    4. Retrograde workflows
    5. Custom modules built to your specific requirements
  • How do I switch between pathology modules?

Swapping the modules is designed to take minutes:

    1. Select the objective (AVM, DAVF, MMA, retrograde or custom).
    2. Install the module into the reusable base and secure it.
    3. Connect flow for a bench-top or imaging-compatible setup.
    4. Run the demonstration.
    5. Reset and clean or simply replace the module for the next session.
  • Is the platform compatible with fluoroscopy or DSA imaging?

Yes, the RED system can be configured for DSA/fluoroscopy-style workflows or for standalone bench-top demonstration, so trainees can practice image-guided technique the same way they would in an interventional suite.
  • How does the cost compare to disposable training models?

On a long term basis, say for 251 uses, the cost of a disposable-model approach runs approximately $251,000 in total cost, versus roughly $101,000 for the Reusable Embolic Demonstrator (a $100,000 one-time capital investment plus about $1,000 in reusable vessel costs). You have a savings of over $150,000 across the same number of sessions, with no per-session disposable waste.
  • How do I get pricing or request a demo?

Contact SurgeonsLab directly to request a demo or get a quote. Pricing depends on your chosen configuration - Starter, Neurovascular Education, Device Company Workshop or Custom Development - with any patient-specific or custom module requirements.
